Almond Maraschino Cherry Ice Cream

I love all things cherry; cherry pie, cherry filled donuts, cherry pop tarts, even cherry snowballs (you know the one that tastes like cough medicine). Last weekend I made myself a bowl of vanilla ice-cream and drowned it with maraschino cherries. I thought I had invented my own ice-cream flavor until I did a quick Google search and found the "New York Cherry" by Baldwin (insert disappointed emoji here). I was already in my pjs and ready to binge watch Friends on Netflix so I wasn't running out. Instead, I made my own....and it's kind of amazing....
Ingredients:
2 c. Heavy Whipping Cream
1 can of Cold Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 oz can)
2 t. Almond Extract
2 Jars of Maraschino Cherries

Directions:
Using a standing mixer, whip the heavy whipping cream on low until soft peaks form. Add in the cold sweetened condensed milk and almond extract. DO NOT OVER MIX. Cut the maraschino cherries in half and drain the juice into a bowl. Fold in the maraschino cherries and add in the cherry juice (this part is completely optional).

Thanks for stopping by!!
