Sugar Cookie Ingredients:
-2 sticks softened butter
-2 cups sugar
-2 eggs
-2 tsp. vanilla
-1/2 tsp salt
-1 tsp baking powder
-4 cups flour
Directions:
Cream the softened butter and sugar together.
Add eggs, vanilla, salt, baking powder and flour.
Cover in plastic wrap and place in fridge for a half hour.
Preheat over to 350 degrees, roll the dough and use your festive cookie cutters!
Place on an ungreased cookie pan and bake for 8-10 minutes.
Royal Icing:
3/4 cup water
5 tablespoons meringue powder
1 tsp cream of tarter
2.25 lbs powdered sugar
Directions:
Wisk water and meringue powder together for 30 seconds.
Add cream of tarter and wisk for another 30 seconds.
Add all of the powdered sugar and mix until all clumps are gone.
Add a tsp of vanilla extract if the mixture needs more flavor.
