DIY Chalkboard Frame

I was bored on a weeknight after work, so I started searching for craft ideas on pinterest. I needed something small and cheap to fill the space over my bed. I came across this chalkboard frame idea..it was super cheap and easy! Here's how I did it:

I found this cheap frame from goodwill for $10, steal!
*Remember, you don't have to worry about the picture on the front, focus on the type of frame you are looking for*

For the next step, you'll need chalkboard paint...
there are a few options:
-micheals krylon chalkboard spray paint  ($3.72 with a micheals coupon if you have a smartphone)
-make your own (search pinterest)
-martha stewart chalkboard paint (micheals coupon if you have a smartphone)

I chose to use the spraypaint because it was the cheapest deal. I finially got home and realized I didn't have any painters tape, so what your seeing is computer paper and scotch tape (I'm queen of improvising because I forget everything when I'm out!)

I gave the spraypaint a full 12 hours to dry, bought $1 pack of chalk from the dollar store and $14.72 later I have a perfect over-the-bed decoration.

*Idea: I use this board to write inspirational quotes on everyday, the first thing when I wake up in the morning I try to write something knew to help inspire me ....it defiantly helps when you have a 10 hour work day :) *
